Our Story
Our journey to a zero waste future
The Singapore Circular Materials Center (SGCMC) is a materials hub based in Singapore. We aim to be a network of designers, creatives, scientists, women co-op loom groups, inventors, activists, entrepreneurs, mills and factories, grassroots leaders, schools & youths; built on collaborations, partnerships & passion for our planet.
SGCMC generate ideas and create pilot programs to achieve our mission of pushing the zero waste movement forward in Singapore & regional Asia. We house and showcase materials based on the circular and regenerative principles of nature. SG Circular materials include re-imagined materials from recycled waste, sustainable materials that empower communities using regenerative practices for their craft, and bio-materials via eco-innovators.

How do we become a zero waste society?
Without urgent and persistent action, Singapore faces a grave ecological reality. It is anticipated that the country’s sole landfill will be full by the year…
The good news is that the ongoing threat is also an opportunity to revitalise Singapore’s creative industries, and to be a gleaming beacon of success that other nations can look to for inspiration and best practices.
